Melissa Gelin
MTCM, L.Ac
Melissaa was drawn to study Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) after experiencing firsthand how powerfully it can support both pain relief and whole-person healing.
As a high school varsity athlete navigating the challenges of Lyme disease, conventional treatment alone wasn’t enough. Under the care of an acupuncturist who integrated herbs, anti-inflammatory nutrition, stress management, acupuncture, and cupping, Melissa found lasting relief and a deeper appreciation for holistic medicine.
Today, Melissa brings that same integrative, compassionate approach to her patients. With a Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine and licensure in acupuncture, her clinical expertise is enriched by post-graduate training in:
- Kiiko Matsumoto-style Japanese acupuncture
- Sports medicine training with Dr. Whitfield Reaves
- Healing Community Trauma & Trauma Prevention and Recovery with Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB)
- Over 15 years of clinical experience working in various clinical settings with diverse patient populations
Melissa is especially passionate about treating the whole person—body and mind—and supporting patients when pain impacts mental health, sleep, or daily life. Whether working with long-time pain sufferers or individuals new to acupuncture, she creates a welcoming, reassuring space where patients often find themselves saying, "That didn’t even hurt—and now my back
feels better!"
Outside the clinic, Melissa enjoys time outdoors with her two young boys, exploring the West Coast through camping, hiking, and forest adventures. A lifelong learner and wellness enthusiast, she has also completed extensive coursework in nutrition and personal training and is certified as a Level 1 CrossFit Coach.
